Ellie Kohn is Law Clerk for the Cicala Law Firm and a law student at New York Law School. Prior to enrolling in law school, Ellie worked at the firm as a paralegal. Ellie previously worked at non-governmental organizations and nonprofits in New York City, Serbia, and Poland. Her work focused on combating human trafficking and sexual- and gender-based violence, as well as political censorship in Eastern Europe.
Ellie enjoys volunteering at New York Legal Assistance Group with their domestic violence law unit. She has also volunteered at her school’s pro bono asylum clinic and is a member of the Association for Slavic, East European, & Eurasian Studies. She speaks Russian, Serbian, and Spanish.
Education
- Ellie graduated from Grinnell College in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Russian Studies. In 2023, she received her Master’s Degree in Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies & Women’s and Gender Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
